James N. “Jimmy” Carroll, 62, died at his Okolona residence on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 after a period of declining health. Born in Greenville, MS on Sept. 13, 1961 to James Floyd Carroll and Faye Arnold Carroll, Jimmy lived in Eupora for a period of time before moving to Okolona 20 years. He worked for Monroe Cut as an installer. A Christian, he loved hunting, fishing especially with his grandson and collecting antique trucks. An avid golfer, Jimmy was always the life of the party. He enjoyed a good joke played on anyone or on himself and greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was especially devoted to his loving companion of over 20 years, Brenda Wise. He was known by his nickname, Peanut.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-service time. Burial will be private. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends.

Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Faye Arnold Carroll of Lavinia, LA, his loving companion for 20 years, Brenda Wise of Okolona, one daughter, Jemmye Carroll of New Orleans, LA, one bonus son, Douglas Wise ( Brandie) of Tupelo, one bonus daughter, Darla Wise Ray (Tracy) of Okolona, two sisters, Nancy Stafford (Tim) of Port Arthur, TX and Pennie Pickering (Ronnie) of Livonia, LA, four bonus grandchildren, Trey Davis (Molly), Victoria Ray Jones, Lauren Wise and Travis Wise, and three bonus great-grandchildren, Kirby, Brantley, and Winnie Jane. He was preceded in death by his father, James Floyd Carroll.

Memorials in his honor may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Mississippi, 2524 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.
