A memorial visitation to celebrate the life of James Morgan Toon will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at a later date.

James Morgan Toon “Toonie” passed away at his home on June 8, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on March 6, 1942, to the late Ben Morgan “Buddy” Toon and Rachel “Red” Campbell Toon. Mr. Toon was vice president and football co-captain of his 1960 Central High School Class. Mr. Toon earned his bachelor’s degree from MTSU. Toonie worked as a graphic designer with IBM, SAIC, and retired from PeopleTec. James Morgan had was quick-witted and could always make you laugh. He was an avid golfer, attended Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Fayetteville Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife Judy Wagster Toon; children, Lee (Jenny) Toon, Jeffery Younger Toon, Lacey (Lance) Carter, Erin (Wade) Shero, and Michael Cowan; grandchildren, Jason (Noelle) Toon, Kelli (Devan) Bean, Chance Toon, Holly Towry, Rachel Toon, Lauren Rumba, Mattie Rumba, Jon Johnson, Stan Shero, Ensley Shero, Scout Carter, Tristin Carter, Walker Carter, and Leland Cowan; great-grandchildren, Athens Bean, Kollyns Bean, Natalie Toon, Camryn Toon, and Addi Holmes; brother, Rodney (Theri) Toon; and cousins, Sandy Bradley Gates, Bobby Bradley, Ronnie Mason, Barry Campbell, James Thomas Campbell, Kelly Campbell, Kenny Armstrong, and Terry Armstrong. In addition to his parents, Mr. Toon was preceded in death by a grandson, Colton Shero.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fabulous Fifties Foundation, P.O. Box 934, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
