It is with deep sadness that we announce the of James Moore Jr. on January 8, 2024, in Collinwood, Tennessee at the age of 75 years and 5 months. James was born on August 8, 1948, in Iron City, TN to the late James R. and Ruby Vickery Moore.
James was a dedicated individual who worked for many years as a machinist in Local #65 at TVA. He was highly respected by his colleagues for his skills and work ethic. Outside of his profession, James found joy in riding his beloved Harley Davidson. It was during these rides that he felt a sense of freedom and exhilaration.
He is survived by sons, Steven W. Moore and wife Denise Bretherick Moore, Nicholas Moore, and Kristoffer Moore and wife Brittany Pettis Moore; siblings, Judy Moore Hensley, Gary Moore and wife Belinda Moore, Janice Smith Moore and husband Dennis Smith, and Roger Moore; grandchildren, Brian Black, Levi Moore, Makinleigh Moore, Joleigh Moore, Annsleigh Moore, and Raeleigh Moore; and great grandchildren, Silas Black and Noah Black.
James is preceded in death by his son Blake Moore along with his grandparents Odie E. and Rosie Brewer Moore and James F. and Edith Cooley Vickery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Andy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Iron City, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
Pallbearers will be James Hensley, Ronnie Moore, Donnie Moore, Dwain Moore, Dustin Smith, and Frank Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Martin.
