James Monroe Young, 70, of Henagar, and formerly of the Big Cove Community passed away Saturday.
James loved to hunt and fish and had a passion for singing in church. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter for 32 years. James touched many lives through his service to others, as well as his service to Christ. His hard work and love for his family were his proudest achievements. James was a funny man. He will be truly missed for his whit and charm and he was a true gentleman.
Surviving are wife, Lorraine Young; sons, Jamie Young and Jonathan Young; daughters, Katie Johnson and Ashley Kennedy; brother, Robert Young; sisters, Noky Byrd and Joanne Boldosser; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Trading Post Cowboy Church, 10949 US Highway 72, Woodville, AL. Services will follow at the church at 12:00 PM with Pastor Phillip Gilliland officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bubba, Donny, Jeremy, Stacey, Andy and Tyler.
Interment will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
