James Monroe Lawhorn of Pulaski, Tennessee passed away Wednesday morning, January 1st, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee on October 8th, 1939 and was 85 years old.
Monroe was a veteran of the US Army. He was a longtime employee of Davis and Eslick in Pulaski, delivery driver for Purity milk, and owed and operated Winner’s Circle Market. Monroe loved people and enjoyed delivering food to different factories.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm Sunday, January 5th, 2025 at in the chapel of Bennett-May & Piece Funeral Home.
The burial will be at Wright Cemetery with military honors.
Monroe was preceded in death by his parents, William Rufus and Minnie Pearl Ward Lawhorn, sisters, Wilma Johns, Virgina Johns, and Annie Katherine Lawhorn. Brothers, Thomas Lawhorn, Samuel Lawhorn, and R.J. Lawhorn.
