James Michael Porter, 70 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, October 30th, 2022, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Porter was born on September 12th, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, to William Claude Porter and Bernice Nell Harris Porter.
Mr. Porter is survived by his wife Doloris Porter; daughter Heather Granados; son-in-law David Granados; son Steven Haworth; grandchildren Jared Porter, Dominic Granados, and Savannah Granados; siblings Charles Porter, Kenneth Porter, Robert Porter, John Porter, Mary Wester, and Carla Marting; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter Rowyn Lee Granados.
Funeral services for Mr. Porter will be Saturday, November 5th, 2022, at 1:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Josh Shirley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home.
