Mr. James Michael Pennington, age 68, of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, September 27, at his residence.
Mr. Pennington was born November 27, 1954, in Birmingham, AL, to the late William Gene and Belva Jean Stapp Pennington. He received his Bachelor’s degree from UAB and finished first in his class at the School of Dentistry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vernon, and was an estimator at Weathers Electric and owner of Vernon Dental Lab. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, David Pennington.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 2, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Vernon, with Bro. Clyde Stephens and Bro. Brandon Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Tony Picklesiemer, Jeff Picklesiemer, Ronald Pennington, James Howard Pennington, Alan Pennington, Ray Pennington, and Bryan Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Pennington, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Jeremy (Leah) Pennington of Wilsonville, AL and Spencer (Sarah) Pennington of Tuscaloosa, AL; three grandsons, John Taylor Pennington, William Cooper Pennington, and Hudson William Pennington; one sister, Rena (Mike) Jaudon of Caledonia, MS; and a host of other family and friends.
