James Michael “Mike” Cushing, age 75, of Gadsden, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Graveside Services will be held at Mt. Pisgah on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Brother Nathan Payne will officiate.
Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation services in charge of arrangements.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Etowah County, he was a graduate of Southside High School.
Mike retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 32 years of service.
He enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, and watching his grandchildren play their various sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Floyd Cushing and Mable Kelly Cushing; grandson, Chris Wheeler.
Mike is survived by his son, Allan (Terri) Cushing; daughter, Traci Cushing (Tommy) Massaro; grandchildren, Michael (Jordyn) Cushing; Lorren (Janiel) Lister, Morgan (Blake) Higgins, Ryan Massaro, Andrew Massaro, Elizabeth Kalina, Matthew Giles; great grandchildren, Reid Lister, Carter Lister, Karson Higgins, and Charlotte Lister. Sister, Janice (Steve) Praytor.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cushing, Ryan Massaro, Andrew Massaro, Janiel Lister, Brian Tuck, and Bobby Lovvorn.
The family wishes to send special thanks to Cherokee County Nursing Home, Oaklanding Assisted Living, and Butterfly Sitting Care.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 3:30 until 4:30 pm prior to the service on Wednesday, July 27, 2022..
