James Michael Coleman (Mike) age 66, passed away in his home on November 8, 2023, after a 6 year battle with cancer. Mike passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike was survived by his wife Kim Coleman, two daughters, Kristal Coleman Denson (Tim) and Brittney Barksdale (Josh), one granddaughter Kamryn Coleman, four grandsons, Dalton Coleman, Dylan Barksdale, Hayden Barksdale, and Jase Barksdale, and a great grandson Waylon Coleman. A brother Rickey Coleman (Lisa) and sister Pam Price (Dan), step father Mike Handley along with several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father, W.W Coleman, mother Mary Coleman Handley, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and loyal friend. He loved Alabama football and he never met a stranger. Mike was employed at Anniston Army Depot for 33 years and at the time of retirement once his battle with cancer began, Mike was a Quality Assurance Specialist. It deeply sadden him to leave such a supportive, loving work family behind, though he kept in touch with many of his friends he made while he was employed at ANAD.
His wishes were to be cremated, but a memorial service in his honor will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 3:00PM at Cedar Springs Baptist Church. With his love of Alabama Football he requested wearing Alabama shirts and jeans for those who attend.
