Mr. James “Melvin” Brooks, 61, of Florence, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. Viewing was 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Saints Funeral Home in Sheffield. Family hour was 5-7 p.m. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Saints Funeral Home Chapel, Sheffield. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Brother Herman Steele is officiating. Burial will be in Bailey Chapel in Killen, Ala. Mr. James “Melvin” Brooks was the co-owner of Brooks Bar-B-Que in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
