James Luther Haynes, age 77 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Anderson, South Carolina on February 5, 1946 to the late James Alfred and Virginia Lillian (Partin) Haynes. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a truck driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and watching old westerns. James attended the First Assembly of God in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Haynes; and sisters, Ruby Haynes and Elaine Kelly. James is survived by his loving children, James “Jimmy” (Deborah) Haynes, Sherry Holland, John Haynes, Kim (Scott) Phillips, Lannie Haynes, and Jared Haynes; grandchildren, Greg Haynes, Emily Haynes, Cody Haynes, CJay Holland, and Ellie Haynes; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Louise Baker, Mary DeLossantos, Helen Kosur, and Lavonda Gass; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Ronald Forrester officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Plains Cemetery.
