James Lloyd Lewey – Obituary

Mr. James Lloyd Lewey died at the age of 88 on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Mr. Lewey was a lifelong resident of Tuscumbia, AL. He was a proud Navy veteran who served on both the European and Pacific fronts during WWII. Mr. Lewey was retired from Reynolds Metal Company. He was a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ, the Masonic Washington Lodge #36, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Mr. Lewey was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Enlow Lewey; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred James Lewey; brothers, Herbert, David, and Jerrell Lewey; and granddaughter, Kim Lewey. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Margaret Barker (Mike); sons, Marshall Lewey (Rosemary), Doug Lewey (Carol), and Jerry Lewey (Charlie); grandchildren, Jim Lewey (Lauren), Katy Beth Lewey, Christy Claunch (Michael), Amy Chambers (Tim), Clint Lewey (Esin), and Trent Walters; and great-grandchildren, William Lewey, Max Lewey, Pete Claunch, Chip Claunch, Lilly Chambers, and Bianca Lewey. Mr. Lewey’s visitation was 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Tuscumbia Church of Christ on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Pallbearers are Bobby Henry, Ralph Foster, James Sherrod, Buzz Malone, Donnie Berry, Dewey Willingham, Bryant Willingham, and Kenneth Lewey.
