James Leroy Weatherby, age 85 of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, September 29, 2012. His graveside service will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mr. Weatherby was retired from Norfolk Southern. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He loved his garden and Deshler Football where he played during his high school years. Proceeding him in death were his parents, John H. and Amelia Maddox Weatherby; his wife, Rose Maedrew Weatherby; daughter, Amelia Ann Dearth; his brothers, John Curtis Weatherby, George Weatherby, Ray Weatherby and sister, Mae Rikard.
He is survived by his sons; Steven L. Weatherby and William R. Weatherby; his brother, William Ralph “Billy” Weatherby, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
