James Leon White, 83, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1930, to Jack and Ruly Johnson White. He had previously worked at Lee County Road Department and Tupelo Ford Tractor. He was a welder and metal worker. He enjoyed auctions, gardening, and watching wrestling with his wife, Syble.
Services will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, August 8, at the McNeece – Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Mark Tutor officiating. Burial will be in the Boguefala Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Syble White; three sons, Rick White (Linda), Randy White (special friend, Dee), and Andy White (special friend Pam), all of Mooreville; five grandchildren, Brandon White (Wendy), Shun White, April Dawn White, Coby White, and Austin Veasey; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his sons, Lottie White; two sisters, Audra Hammock and Mary E. White; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Brandon White, Shun White, Austin Veasey, Shelby W. Moore, Jim Cayson, and A.G. McReynolds.
Honorary pallbearers will be William and David Hammock, Mack Henry, Harold Christian, Bob Stembridge, Stoney Robertson, and Ron Frost.
Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p. m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a. m. until service time Thursday at McNeece – Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
