James Lee “Jim” Smith, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his residence.  He was born in Bremen, OH, owner of Alpine Air Purification Systems, and a member of Midway Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Halley and Mable Bylieu Smith; and brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Helen Smith.

He is survived by his wife,  Pamela Massey Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Lorre Eck (Chris) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Kelli McClaren Williams (Kevin) of Leoma, TN; four sons, Doug Smith (Sherry) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Duane Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN, Matt McClaren (Robin) of New Orleans, LA, and Blake McClaren (Christina) of San Francisco, CA; twelve grandchildren, Anna Methvin (Jeremy), Whit Shelton (Tarah), Anna Nathan (Dave), Catherine Sheffield (Ebony), Sarah Eck (J.), Haley Daniels (Seth), Jacob Williams, Matthew Smith, Shelby Moody (Brian), Azakai McClaren, Alexander McClaren, and Jonathan McClaren; and eight great-grandchildren. Jim also thought of these as extended family, his valuable and loyal employee, Harvey Smith; his fishing buddy, Bobby Bates; and wonderful neighbor, Tammy Stokes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice and Maury Regional Cancer Center for all the care they provided.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday, July 06, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 06, 2024, with Larry Keele officiating.  Interment will follow at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org or the Does God Exist?
