James Lee George, Jr. Profile Photo James Lee George, Jr., 64, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 17, 2023.  James was born in Arkansas to James Lee George, Sr. and Betty Cavender Taylor.  The George family moved to Castle Rock, Illinois and James would eventually settle and put roots down in Monroe County, Mississippi.   On March 12, 1989 he married the love of his life, Diane Parham who he always called his Honey.  He and Diane shared a special bond and James was happiest when Diane was by his side.  Together, they created a lifetime of memories.  For several years James worked in construction, supervising the construction of several Wendy’s from North Mississippi to the coast.  He was also a custom woodworker, building custom furniture for daycares.  He loved to spend time fishing and camping with Diane and their many camping friends, such as Ray Winters, Rabbit and Jane Swanson and many others. Having a sense of pride about his belongings, James loved to keep his truck and yard immaculate.  He and Diane formerly attended New Hope Baptist Church and currently attend Forward Church.

James is survived by his wife, Diane Parham George, Amory; mother, Betty Taylor, Amory; daughter, Sandy Bohn, Nettleton; sons, Devan George (Diedra), Amory, Randy Hall (Kathy), Amory, Robbie Hall (Robin), Amory, Phillip Hall (Amanda), Nettleton; sister, Debbie Ables (Robert), Smithville; mother in law, Lillian Parham, Amory; grandchildren, Josh Hall (Samantha), Aaron Parker (April), Dillan Parker, Hannah Brooke Hall (Alex Crook), Colby Hall (Katie), Paxton Hall, Lilly Hall, McKinley Farley (Nolyn), Morgan Hall; great grandchildren, Bryce George, Brooklyn Davis, Charli Hall, Khloe Hall and Banks Farley; special friends, Ray Winters, Rabbit and Jane Swanson; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by his father in law, Albert “Mutt” Parham and longtime friend and neighbor, Lee Nails.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Greg Huguley officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hall, Robbie Hall, Phillip Hall, Devan George, Ray Winters, Rabbit Swanson anf Keith Carver.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 1 PM until 2:45 PM.
