James Larry Warren, 80, of Elgin, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on July 23rd, with his loving sister, Rhonda, by his side. Larry was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School and honorably served in the United States Army in Vietnam. During his time in active duty, he was awarded a service medal for sharpshooting and was honorably discharged in 1966. Larry later retired from Reynolds Aluminum in Sheffield, AL.

Larry was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved his family, fishing on the Tennessee River in his younger days, morning coffee at his favorite restaurant, trips to Tunica, and the song, “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts.

Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Polly Warren; brother, Gerald A Warren; and sister, Bonnie Warren Mitchell. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Warren; sisters, Faye Warren and Rhonda Warren; sister-in-law, Jeanne Warren; grandchildren, Kristi Culps (Eric) and Michael Culps; grandchildren, Katie Culps, Hannah Drane, and Gracelyn Culps; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family extends our sincere gratitude to Affinity Hospice, especially to angels Brittany and Leca for the blessing of care, love, and comfort they gave to Larry and his family.

Services will be held at Rogersville Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00, and a brief service with military honors will follow at 2:00.
