James Larry Gifford, age 70 of Huntland passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born January 24, 1951 in Winchester to the late Robert Lawrence Gifford and Mary Lee Watson Gifford. Larry worked at TVA for 14 years and then proudly joined his brothers at Gifford Brothers Concrete. He was a foreman there and retired after 25 years. In all, Larry had a total of 55 years experience in the concrete business. He will be remembered as a hardworking, kind and generous man who dearly loved his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching westerns and hanging out with friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Archie Wayne Gifford; maternal grandparents, Witt and Dora Mae Watson; and paternal grandparents, Jerry Lewis and Anna Green Gifford. Larry is survived by his daughter, Kandy Rena (Wally) Henson of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Kaleb Henson, Malachi Henson and Shiloh Henson; siblings, Dale (Allean Simmons) Gifford and Danny Gifford of Huntland, Ruth Black, Melissa Hughes and Carlene (Robert) Walker, all of Huntsville, AL; several nieces; great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be 1:00-3:30 pm Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel with interment at Maxwell Cemetery.
