James Lamar Mason, 74 of Anniston, passed away on December 12, 2023, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqulyn Mason; children, Stephanie Johnson (Rickey), Brandon Mason, Stanley Andrews, and Susie Nelson (Bobby Smith); sister, Alma Lindsey (Gary); 15 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Clara Bell Mason; sons, Christopher Mason and David Nelson; daughter, Kellye Nelson; brother, Eugene Mason; and sisters, Patricia Finley and Louise Dempsey.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 126, and a veteran of the Vietnam war. James enjoyed racing cars in his younger days.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Chapel at Cremation Services of East Alabama. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the service. His nephew, Larry Lindsey, will officiate.
