James Lamar Harris, 74, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at New Albany Health and Rehab in New Albany, MS. He was born on November 25, 1949, in Pontotoc County, MS to Hezzie James and Mamie Ruth Crouch Harris. When he wasn’t working in the factory, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Gordon (Eddie) of Algoma, MS; his son, Travis Harris (Sara) of Thaxton, MS; his grandchildren, Sadie Gordon, River Harris and August Randy Harris; his brother, Billy Harris; and his sister, Linda Kay Gober.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Pauline Hutcheson, Mamie Sue Thompson, and Edna Franks; and an infant son.
Services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Jason Watts officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Endville Cemetery.
