A Celebration of life for Mr. James L. Forbus age 73 of Delta, will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday March 9, 2025 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (North) with Bro Shane Harris officiating. Graveside and Committal Services will take place immediately following in the adjoining cemetery; conducted by Elder L.C. Harris and Bro. Ivan Fuller.

Mr. Forbus passed away on March 6, 2025 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. James graduated from Lineville High School with the Class of 69, and then worked for Sewell MFG and Forbus Blinds for several years. James was saved at the age of 14 and became a Deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1986. He truly loved the Lord and taking care of his family; after his retirement he enjoyed cattle farming and was a friend to animals like his cats and his Dog Missie.

James is survived by his two sisters; Betty Forbus and Janice Forbus of Delta, his nieces; Sherry Wilfert, Cathy Palmer, Becky Bowling, Melissa Tarrent, and her nephew Linn Forbus plus a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Jesse Herbert Forbus and Eula Gay Sims Forbus, two sisters; Marie Craft and Levis Morrow, plus one brother; Vermal Forbus.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Moore, Allan Garich, Roger Harris, Micah Harris, and Arlen Riddle.

The family will receive friends at the church Sunday March 9, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.

Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge of the arrangements
