James “Jimmy” Thompson, III, 71, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2024 from noon to 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Florence with a memorial service following in the funeral home chapel. Sloan Dickerson will officiate the service.
Jimmy was a native and lifelong resident of the Shoals. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a past president of the Central Dixie Youth and really enjoyed the time he spent coaching. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Thompson.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Jimmy Thompson (Ginger); grandchildren, Andon and Ali Thompson; brother, Wade Thompson; sister, Nancy Lachowicz; and nieces and nephew, Melissa Strother, Mandi Lachowicz, and Chet Lachowicz.
