James “Jim” Pelham Crim, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 19, 2014. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama on September 26, 1939 to James Cecil Crim and Ann Bradford Broadhead Crim. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda Sue Crim and Donna Crim Green.
Jim graduated from Gadsden High School in 1957 and Jacksonville State University in 1961. He served in the Chemical Corp in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964 at Fort McClellan and was a Captain in the Army Reserve. He was employed at Uniroyal Tire Company in Opelika, Dunlop Tire Company in Huntsville, and Bridgestone Tire Company in LaVergne, TN where he retired in 2008. His passion was serving the Lord and spending time with his family. He enjoyed breakfast with the ROMEO’s and Alabama football.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Ann Tumlin Crim, daughter Alesia Saxon of Huntsville and her children Jessica (Patrick) Griner, Jeff, Jr., Christina, Laramie, and Stephen Saxon; son, Benjy (Jo Ann) Crim of Owens Cross Roads and their children Anna Claire, Price,
Finn, and Carter Crim; son, Shannon (Dana) Crim of Huntsville and their sons Charlie and Jack Parker Crim; daughter Amy (Bryan) Williams of Winchester, TN and their children Jay, Sam, Chloe, Abbie, Noah, Isaiah, Joseph, Rachel, and Constance Williams; and son Daniel (Elizabeth) Crim of Southeast Asia and their children Parker, Liam, and Ella Grace Crim. Great-grandchildren Patrick Jr. and MacKenzie Griner. Sister Sandra Crim of Lakeland, FL and brother-in-law Olin (Martha) Tumlin of Gadsden. Several nieces and nephews.
His family will celebrate his life at Whitesburg Baptist Church Chapel on Wednesday, October 22 with visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the funeral service at 1:00pm with Dr. Jimmy Jackson and Reverend Steve Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jeff Saxon, Jr., Jay Williams, Charlie Crim, Sam Williams, Stephen Saxon, and Jack Parker Crim.
