Born on June 14, 1951, in Ripley, Mississippi, he was the beloved son of the late Walter Clifford Jackson and Lula Belle Hilton Jackson. Jim was a proud graduate of Walnut High School, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Mississippi State University, and the Auburn University of Veterinary Medicine. Know affectionately as “Doc” to his many friends and clients, he dedicated his life to caring for animals as a veterinarian at Jackson Animal Clinic. Beyond his career, Jim had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cultivating his cherished watermelons, pumpkins, and food plots. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter, often sharing adventures with his friends on trips out west. Jim was not only a skilled outdoorsman but also a compassionate friend, devoted father, and true animal lover. His warmth and humor will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he so greatly impacted. Jim is survived by his brother, Dr. Bill Jackson, and wife Linda Gene; his loving partner of 12 years, Mai Fair; his sons, Matt Jackson (Trish), James Jackson II (Amy), and William Jackson; and his nieces, Candace Marlar (Josh), Lindsey Jackson (Robert), and Morgan Williams (Kevin). He is also survived by those he lovingly considered his own children: Josh, Kyle, and Anna Kayte Webb, as well as Kellen and Lizzy Fair. His cherished grandchildren include Braydon and Brody Muhly, and Brewer Jackson. He also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, Eleanor and John Franceis Williams, and Jackson and Hilton Marlar, along with an extended family and countless friends who loved him dearly.
