James (Jim) Henry Buckman – Obituary

Memorial service for Mr. James (Jim) Henry Buckman, age 86, of Huntsville, will be Thursday, July 6, 2017, 10:00 am at Hillwood Baptist Church of Huntsville, 300 Kohler Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Charles Freeman officiating.

Mr. Buckman is survived by three brothers including his twin Joseph Buckman, Donald Buckman and Robert Buckman (Anita) of Skiatook, OK., his three children by his first wife, Alcyone; John F. Buckman, Cynthia R. Buckman and Keith A. Buckman (Marta), two grandchildren, Nicole S. Bruzon and Devin Buckman, five great grandchildren, Nathan, Aiden, Preston Bruzon and Olivia and Samuel Colton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Buckman and Myrtle May Buckman, son Ralph Randall and daughter-in-law Robin Buckman, one brother William (Bill) Buckman.

Jim was born in Tampa, FL. He served two terms in the United States Air Force as a Military patrolman. He served in the Korean War and was also stationed in England. He traveled most of his adult life either by driving one of his old cars or by flying one of his small two 2-seater planes. He collected antique cars, planes and motorcycles. He retired in 2006 from a communications company in Oklahoma. Jim was a staunch Republican who loved his country.
