James “Jim” Harland Walden, age 78 of Athens, passed away Sunday October 30, 2022, at home.

Mr. Walden was a Nuclear Arms Guard in the Marines for 4 years, and served 2 years aboard the FDR Aircraft Carrier. He also worked at Dunlop for 27 years, and was a truck driver with Teamsters Local for 6 years.

A graveside service will be Wednesday November 2nd at 2pm at Roselawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Lane Wallace (Dylan) of Athens, Bonnie Ames (Tim) and Lisa Mavrotheris (Ted) both of Madison; sons, Russell Walden (Kelly) of New Market and Nathan Walden (Nickie) of Greenville, PA; sister, Carolyn Jones (Jim); brother, Douglas Walden (Bevely); 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, James Malcom and Maxine Walden; and his brother, Leonard Walden.
