James (Jim) Braxton Dickerson, 71, of Bellevue, TN, passed away Monday morning, December 10, 2018 surrounded by family. Born May 31, 1947 in Madison, TN and sharing the same birthday as his youngest son, Kenneth “Colt”, Jim is the son of Kenneth Dickerson and the late Betty (Lawson) Dickerson.
Jim is survived by his wife Salli (Roth) Dickerson of 25 years, daughters Faith (Clarence) Hawkins, Lorri (Michael) Shannon, Marie Cain, sons Michael (Cassandra) Dickerson, David (Susan) Dickerson, James Dickerson, Kenneth (Heather) Dickerson, stepdaughter Kristi (David) Forrester, sister Denise Dickerson, father Kenneth Dickerson, and six grandchildren.
Among his many adventures, Jim served as a police officer for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, owned and operated security alarm companies, ran a restaurant, held various sales positions and loved being a greeter at Sam’s Club. A self-proclaimed “city boy” he nevertheless loved his country roots, his family, and his firearms. With a ready smile, a mind ever full of ideas, and a heart of passion he was at his best when he was serving others.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Tabernacle Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his sons Michael, David, James, & Kenneth Dickerson, grandson Erik Dickerson, and brother-in-law Ron Roth.
