Mr. James “Jim” Benjamin Coleman, age 73, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Coleman was born March 12, 1950, in Columbus, MS, to the late James Benjamin Coleman, Sr. and Dorothy Joyce Matherson.  He was a sales associate with Miller’s OK Tire in Columbus, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Duke and Sheila Coleman.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 15, at 6:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Keith Rhudy and Bro. Gary Seay officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 4:30-6:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Danny Shepard, James Pennington, Lane Pennington, Reed Pennington, Glen Baldwin, David Ferraz.

Survivors include his wife, Jaynie Coleman, of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Tiffany (Brian) Wyers of Pickensville, AL and Sonja Renacker of Columbus, MS; two step-daughters, Carla (Justin) Bittle of Willow Springs, NC and Candace Smith of Vernon, AL; eight grandchildren, Hayden Wyers, Baylee Wyers, Jared Tomlinson, Rachel Chamu, Kaitlyn Cunningham, Mattie Bittle, Carley Bittle, and Ollie Bittle; two great-grandchildren, Caleigh Hollis and and Waylon Chamu; one brother, Danny “Teeter” (Carolyn) Coleman of Fulton, MS; and one sister, Glenda Dumler of Castle Rock, CO.
