James “Jackie” Walls

James “Jackie” Walls, 77, of New Market passed away peacefully on Saturday while surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Walls was a professional truck driver for over 50 years and was known as “Alabama Mule”, his CB handle for many years.

Mr. Walls served the Lord as a Christian and member of the New Market Free Holiness Church and had served his country in the Vietnam War while in the United States Navy.  He was a hard worker who served his family.

Mr. Walls was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Betty Walls.

Surviving family members include his wife of 57 years, Angel Walls;  His sons and theirs wives: John & Angie Walls; Jamie & Labreca Walls; Jason Walls & Debbie Moore; Joseph & Amanda Walls;  Eight grandchildren: Tyler Walls, Katie Appleton, Brandon Walls, Lily Walls, Eli Hyche, Anna Kate Kizziah, Braden Moore and Hannah Travis.   He is also survived by his great-grandson, Adrian Travis, his sister, Linda Priest and by her children,  Anita Stiles and Alan Priest.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5PM until 8PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be Thursday at 2pm at the funeral home with Brother Mark Teet officiating.   Burial will follow the service and will be in Cochran Cemetery in New Market.
