James-Hayes-1422442438Funeral services for Mr. James Henry Hayes, age 85, are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at The Pentecostal Church of Darden with Bro. Vaughn Hamm and Bro. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Darden Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hayes passed away Tuesday at his home. He was born December 17, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Hollie and Hester Wood Hayes. He was retired from Brown Shoe, was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of The Pentecostal Church of Darden. Mr. Hayes was also an electrician, cattle and hog farmer, enjoyed wood working and carpenter work, collected tractors and hard hats, worked with buffalo, and was truly a “jack-of-all-trades”. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his two brothers, Herschel and J. O. Hayes and his sister, Maxine Davis. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Rebecca Graves Hayes; two sons, David (Pam) Autry and Dwight (Pam) Autry; two daughters, Peggy Renee (Larry) Tillman and Jamie (Mark) Reynolds; one brother, J.R. Hayes; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
