Funeral service for James Harold Rigsby, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until the time of service at 3 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Jim was born on October 18, 1940, in Jennings County, IN, to the late Henry and Chella Payton Rigsby. He worked as a carpet layer for 53 years in Lincoln County and gained many lifelong friendships while working. Mr. Rigsby served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the Holiness Church of God. Jim enjoyed tinkering with and trading old cars. Mr. Rigsby passed away on February 17, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Mary Widner Rigsby; daughters, Andrea (Jack) Boyett, Ginger Iddings, Elaine Whorley, Michelle Jordan, Melanie Lush, and Melinda Smith; brothers, Ted (Judy) Rigsby, and Kenny (Martha) Rigsby; sisters, Berdine (John) Hollister, Barbara Smith, and Sylvia Martin; brothers-in-law, Joe (Patsy) Widner, and Paul (Jenny) Widner; sisters-in-law, June (Scott) Haston, and Sandra (Paul) King; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his eight siblings.
