James Groundell Spragg Bullington (a.k.a Funkle-the fun uncle), 56, of Trinity, AL passed peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from a heart condition. Jimmy was born in Arlington, VA and moved to AL in his early 20’s. He received a Bachelor of Social Work from Jacksonville State University. Social work was his calling. He had a good heart, wanted to help others, and wanted to make them laugh. He was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering. Jimmy was so funny that he could have been a comedian. Those who knew Jimmy were aware of his struggle with depression, yet they also knew his incredible strength, kindness, and the joy he brought to others.
His survivors include his husband, Michael Collins; sister, Kimberly DiCicco; niece, Taylor DiCicco and nephew, Parker Still.
The family is so grateful that Jimmy found Michael, the love of his life, who brought him immense joy. Their decade of marriage was truly a testament to their deep bond, support for one another, and the happiness they shared together.
While we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing he has found the peace he deserves.
