James Grady West, 83 of Union Grove died Tuesday September 17, 2024, in Diversicare of Arab.
Mr. West was born Wednesday November 6, 1940, in Murphy, North Carolina, the son of Leonard West and Hazel Nix West. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force in 1967 having risen to the rank of Staff Sergeant. By profession, James was an engineer, he had retired several years ago. He was married to the former Carol Reid August 15, 1999.
James is survived by his wife: Carol Reid West; a daughter: Cathy Morrow; two brothers: Leonard West, Jr. and Joe West; a special nephew: Terry West, several other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday September 23, 2024 at Gober Funeral Chapel, Brother Michael Bowe, officiating.
Graveside Committal with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Montevallo National Cemetery directed by Gober Funeral Chapel.
Visitation for Mr. West will be Monday at Gober Funeral Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.
