James Gipson Watson, 77, Cherokee, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, February 18, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Roger Watson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Springs Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
James was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee. He enjoyed traveling and playing Bingo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda F. Watson; son, Neal Watson; father, Joe Wheeler Watson; and mother, Rosie Lee Parker.
James is survived by his wife, Jeannie Cauffman Watson; sons, Joseph N. Watson (Jenny) and James A. Watson (Marianne); daughter, Tiffany Owens Hartzog (Stalson); ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Watson, Jeremiah Owens, Bryan Watson, Jimmy Watson, Joseph Willard, and Jesse Jackson.
