James Frank “Mud Duck” Freeman, age 57, of Franklin County, passed away on July 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Missouri. James was born on October 28, 1965, in Albany, NY, to the late Lois (Lane) Freeman and Richard Freeman. James was known for being a motorcycle enthusiast and riding his bike every chance, he got. James was also known for drinking his coffee at all hours of the day at Waffle House. James was a truck driver most of his life but was a jack of all trades. James loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Specialist Jackson Johnson. James is survived by his son, James Freeman II of Hillsboro, MO; daughter April (Jason) Johnson of Hillsboro, MO; grand-daughters, Renee Johnson and Makayla (Barnett) Hall; sister Lois Shane of Tullahoma, TN; nieces, Rebecca Shane, Kelly Shane, Jessica Hale; and many friends who became brothers and sisters. Visitation for Mud Duck will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 12:00pm -2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 2:00pm from the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help with medical and funeral expenses. Please contact James’s daughter April Johnson for more information.
