James Frank Luttrell, age 95 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Elk River Nursing Facility following a brief illness. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on October 3, 1929, to the late Clarence Earl and Jessie Ellen (Stovall) Luttrell. Frank was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Era, having served from 1948-1952 in Germany as a tank driver. He then worked as a machinist at Cleveland Pneumatic manufacturing wings for the F-4 Phantom fighter aircraft, a career that spanned thirty-eight years. One of the founding members of the Tims Ford Bass Club, Frank enjoyed fishing as well as watching sports. He was a member of Winchester Masonic Lodge for over fifty-seven years, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, member of the Scottish Rite, and had served three times as Grand Master. He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Robbie Jean Luttrell; siblings, J.C. Luttrell, John (Clara) Luttrell, Mildred (Bill) Kelly, and Mary (George) Taylor; sister-in-law, Faye Luttrell; and grandson-in-law, Eddie Mearse. Frank is survived by his loving children, Joyce (Robert) Slatton, and William “Bill” Earl Luttrell; brother, Clyde “Jack” Luttrell; and sister-in-law, Shirley Luttrell; grandchildren, Courtney (Matt) Daniel, April (Andy) Wilson, Kimberly Mearse, and William Luttrell; step-grandchildren, Misty Slatton and Justin Slatton; and great-grandchildren, Parker Daniel, Sawyer Daniel, Chelsea Shetters, Brooklyn Shetters, Briana Mearse, and Zachary Mearse. Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 pm at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Master Masons serving as pallbearers. The family would like to give a special thank you to the great staff at Elk River Nursing Facility and Gentiva Hospice, as well as to special friends, John and Jenny Smith, Jim and Sandy Brazelton, James and Theresa Harmon, Meg Lasiter, and Kenny Luttrell.
