James Forby Collum, 89, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Vina, AL to Arlon and Reva Horton Collum and was retired after 32 years with Wrangler/Blue Bell. He worked as a security guard at Tiffin Motor Homes and farmed and sold produce at the Farmer’s Market.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 6, 1 p.m. at Burnout Cemetery, Vina, AL with Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Collum; daughter, Christie Cantrell (Brent); sister, Grace Brown and two brothers, Arlon Collum and Howard Collum.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clinton Collum, Gene “Dave” Collum and Teamon Collum.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Townsend, Richard Townsend, Terry James, Jerry James, Joe Kennedy and Tony Collum.
