James Farley (Jim) Murphey, III was born August 2, 1948 in Memphis, TN the son of the late James Farley Murpehy, Jr and Mary Louise Pulliam Murphey.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Craig on June 12, 1970.
Mr. Murphey was owner of Murphey’s City Lumber in Selmer and a graduate from the University of Tennessee with a masters degree in animal science. He was a member and deacon at Unity Baptist Church in Ramer, Tennessee, an avid University of Tennessee/St. Louis Cardinals fan and a supporter of Ramer School.
Mr. Murphey departed this life on August 5, 2014 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 3 Days. He is survived by his wife Patricia Murphey of Ramer, TN; two sons, James Farley (Jay) Murphey III and wife Amy of Murfreesboro, TN, Joseph Franklin (Jody) Murphey and wife Kerry of Buford, GA; a sister, Emily (Murphey) Akin and husband Ron of Union City, TN; four grandchildren, Catherine Elaine Murphey, Cooper Henry Murphey, James Elmore Murphey, David Craig Murphey; and a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside Services will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Somerville City Cemetery.
