James F. Riggs – Obituary

James F. Riggs, 82, of Tuscumbia, passed away on April 22, 2017. Visitation will be Tuesday April 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 26, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

James was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. He retired from Reynolds Metals where he was employed for 37 years. He was previously a fireman and police officer for the city of Tuscumbia. He was member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over 75 years where he served as a deacon and song leader.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and served as a shining example of faith, hard work, and kindness to his family and to all that knew him. He loved to sing and enjoy gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty; his daughter Pamela Riggs Louk; grandchildren Leigh Anne Younes, Amanda Sue Younes and Corey Shane Louk.

He is survived by his son, James A. Riggs; daughter Susan Nadell (John); brother Bobby Riggs (Charlene); grandchildren Barry Lee Younes, Jr., Katherine Elizabeth Nadell, James Andrew Riggs, and Bryant Andrew Nadell; great grandchildren Micah Lee Younes and Nava Liora Younes; Uncle “Shot” will be dearly missed by his many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
