James Eric Chambers, 65 of Athens Alabama, passed away on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 7th, 1957, in Athens Alabama to James David Chambers and Margie Louise Smith Chambers.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife Julia Chambers; sons Reid Chambers (Leslie) of Auburn, Alabama and Evan Chambers (Jenna) of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren Karson Goble, Kai Goble, and Catherine Chambers; stepdaughter Jessy Goble (Kerry) of Snead, Alabama; brother Ralph Chambers (Kathy) of Monroeville, Alabama; sister Judy Stalcup (Berry) of Florence, Alabama; sister-in-law Rachel Lewter of Athens, Alabama; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Alton and Sarah Wooldridge of Florala, Alabama. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents James and Margie Chambers as well as brother-in-law Kenny Wooldridge.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at Roselawn Cemetery with Tim Anderson officiating
Mr. Chambers was a dedicated worker at Steelcase, where he worked for 38 years as an engineer. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He loved golf as well as traveling.
