James Edward Smothermon, 78, of Rogersville died Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at Cypress Cove Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel with Jimmy Grisham officiating. Burial will be in Romine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Estes, O’Neal Smith, Charlie Newton, Corey Newton, Lonnie Gibson and John Moore; honorary pallbearers will be David Brewer and Glynn Evans.
Mr. Smothermon was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Smothermon; brothers, K.C., Homer, Mason and Ozell Smothermon and Vernon and Jay Roach. He is survived by his wife, Odell Smothermon; children, James (Carol) Smothermon and Mary (Bobby) Whitman; grandchildren, Darris Whitman, Tellia (Dale) Romine, Falena (Jesse) Brewer and Kevin Thomas; great-granddaughter, Cerrah Whitman and numerous nieces and nephews.
