James Edward Howard was born on February 26, 1958, to the late A.J. and Doris Lucille Howard. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cave Spring MB Church, where he remained a member until his death.
God called him home on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Helen Keller Hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; one daughter, Amanda Hankins; two brothers, Leonard Howard and Billy Howard; his grandmother, Annie Hankins; one uncle, Dan Kin; two aunts, Peggy Hankins and Susie Hankins; and a very special devoted friend, Donell Perkins.
James was a very hard-working and dependable person. He worked at J.C. Box for 30 plus years. He loved to work, paint, fix up houses, and work on cars. He stayed busy and always had something to do. When it came to cleaning up his cars, he had the cleanest car around. As some would call him C-Dogg and some also called him Knifer, he will greatly be missed from any act of kindness that he served to the community.
He leaves to cherish his memories:
Three daughters, Fannie Little of Tuscumbia, AL; Aretha White of Muscle Shoals, AL; Teresa (Billy) Hankins of Athens, AL; two brothers, John Howard of Muscle Shoals, AL and Jerry Howard of Courtland, AL; three sisters, Doris (Billy) Ford, Mary Howard, and Lydia Howard, all of Muscle Shoals, AL; four aunts, Cindy King of Sheffield, AL, Barbara Hankins of Huntsville, AL, Ronell Hankins of Sheffield, AL, and Bertha Hankins of Sheffield, AL; one uncle, Charles Hankins of Sheffield, AL; seven grandchildren, Darrell Little, Jalexus Belue, Jacoby Belue, Sierra Daily, Anthony Hankins, Derrikka Hankins, Keevon Hankins, and LaTavius Hankins; devoted friends, Earnest Lewis and John Mitchell and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends.
