James "Cotton" Jenkins James Edward “Cotton” Jenkins, 80 of Quinton, passed away Tuesday Aug. 28, 2024.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of New Beginnings Church in Graysville. He was a member of Brooklin Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM, a member of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Zamora Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Jenkins; children, Zonya Jenkins Brown, Tonya Jenkins and Tina Collier; parents, Sumter and Kathleen Jenkins; brothers, Harlan “Pinky” Jenkins, Johnny Jenkins and Robert Jenkins and sister, Kathy Detwiler.
Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Harper (Charles), Shonda Kilpatric (Eric) and Robin Shumway (Victor); grandchildren, Missiy Butler, Shawn Williams (Candace), Riley Williams (Miranda), Jamie Hyche (Cruz), Chasity Hester (Aaron), Shayla Kilpatrick (Chris), Whitney Piper, Landon Kiker (Jessica), Courtney Kiker (Craigan) and Charlie Harper; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, Ray Jenkins (Jimmie Faye), Joyce Meeks and Ricky Jenkins (Brenda); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday August 31, 2024 at 10:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Donnell Brown and Rev. Daniel Gann will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
