James Edward Cole – Obituary

James Edward Cole, 74, passed away August 3, 2018 at the home of his daughter. He was born in Florence, Alabama on July 23, 1944 to the late Dixie and Cornelia Cole. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Geraldine Cooper in 1964 and moved to Syracuse the following year before returning to Alabama in 1993. He loved fishing, hunting, grilling, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory, seven daughters and four sons, Bridget Reeder of Millbrook; Sharon (Larry) Turner of Lima, Ohio; Stephanie (Arthur) Joe of Syracuse, New York; Vince Reeder of Florence; Angela (Wendel) Ward of Syracuse, New York; Alison Walker of Lima, Ohio; Alisa Cole and James E. Cole, both of Syracuse, New York; Aaron (Nicole) Atchley of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Kristin Clement of Hinesville, Georgia; Akeem Graves of Syracuse, New York. Three brothers, Peter William (Barbara) Anderson, Dixie Calloway (Osie) Cole of Syracuse, New York, and Oscar James (Mary) Dixon of Lima, Ohio; as well as 35 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. We extend special thanks to a devoted beloved friend, Alice Daniels, Clifford Anderson and special son-in-law George Wall.

Services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Rock Primitive Baptist Church CR-204, Gunwaleford Road, Florence, AL 35633 at 1 p.m. with a viewing from 11 a.m. to noon. Grace Memorial Funeral Home directing.
