James Edward “Burr-Rabbit” Devaney, 73, of Spring Valley, passed away Dec. 17, 2012.
Visitation will be Wednesday Dec. 19, from 5-8 p.m., at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Garden. Brother Charlie James and Brother Doris Chaney will be officiating.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicky DeVaney; parents, Lanford and Ruth DeVaney; sisters, Bobbie Brown, Joyce Hurston and Mattie Green.
Survivors include sons, Michael DeVaney (Teresa) and Jason DeVaney;
grandson, Blake DeVaney;
sisters, Margie Smith, Faye Gargis and Norma DeVaney;
brothers, Raymond DeVaney (Barbara) and Gary DeVaney (Beth);
a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Mike Chaney, Wade Dover, Gary DeVaney, Blake DeVaney, Jackie Gargis and Chris DeVaney.
Mr. DeVaney retired from Reynolds after 25 years of loyal service and a member of the Iron Workers Local No. 477.
