United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant James Edgar Walters, 93, died at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a lingering illness. A service honoring his long and fruitful life will take place at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Ricky Young and Bro Randy Wood officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM-service time on Tuesday only. Burial, will full Air Force Honors will take place at 3:30 PM in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Payne (Tallahatchie County), Mississippi. Mr. Walters was a career Air Force man. He was the widow of Evelyn Sumner Walters, who died April 29, 2020. They made their home in Webb, Tallahatchie Co., most of their life before moving to Tupelo in 2005 to be near their daughter. James was the father of Susan Rish (Dr. Jim) of Tupelo and Robert “Robbie” Walters (Sherry) of Bartlett, Tn. and leaves several grandchildren who loved their Paw Paw.
