James Edgar Milton, Jr., 80 of Huntsville, died Wednesday in his home. He was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky to the late, James Edgar Milton, Sr. and Pansy Marie Orange. Jim attended Western Kentucky State College, served in the Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1956. He started his 49 year career as a computer hardware engineer working for Remington Rand Univac. He later worked for Control Data, Boeing, and finally retired from Computer Sciences. After retirement, Jim volunteered for many years at Christmas Charities and the Huntsville Botanical Garden.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carol Caesar Milton; sons and daughters-in-laws, Doug and Denise Milton of Burkeville, Texas, and Robert and Martha Milton of New Market; granddaughters, Christine Elizabeth Milton and Melissa Anne Milton of New Market; brothers, William Womac Milton and Edward Gene Milton; sisters, Ruth Dean Blunkall and Sandra Kay Hopper, all from Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Lee Milton
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Chaplain Anthony Ford officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christmas Charities or Botanical Gardens.
