James Earl Vandiver
Jim passed away suddenly on May 15, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at Highland Baptist Church, 219 Simpson St. Florence, AL, on Monday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 service at 3:00.
Jim was born in Florence to John and Edith Vandiver. He moved to Killen where he raised his family, returning to Florence after his children grew up. Jim retired in 2004from boiler making after 34 years. He enjoyed trading guns and motorcycle riding with his friends and wife. He was a master mason at the Killen lodge and a mentor to many.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith Vandiver and stepdaughter Felicia Bole. He is survived by his wife Doris Vandiver, his children Michelle and Bob Vandiver, his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Vandiver, his stepchildren Christa Lumsden and son in law Michael Bole, his brother and sister-in-law Mark and Lisa Vandiver, his grandchildren Cameron, Tristen, and Brandon Vandiver, Levon Gallion, Creek and Sol Vandiver-Lawrence.
