James Earl Rich, Sr.

Mr. James Earl Rich, Sr. b.k.a "Jim" Mr. James Earl Rich, Sr. was born on May 28, 1951 to the late Frank Rich and Willie Lou Hereford Rich. He departed his life on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Brenda Faye King Rich; one son, James Earl Rich, Jr.; two daughters, Katrina Rich and Attorney Janella Rich; two sisters, Janice Rich and Willie Etta Burress; and four brothers, Eugene Rich, L.C. Houston, Robert Earl Rich and John Rich.

Earl was united in holy matrimony to Brenda on December 19, 1969. The two shared a true love and remained together as one until her death in 2013.

Earl served in the United States Armed Forces and later went on to operate his own businesses which included Heavy Traffic, Tennessee Valley Movers, Explorer’s Club, Fast Service Movers, and Father & Son Movers. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit and was admired for his leadership.

Those who remain to cherish his memories include: one son, James Earl Rich, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; one daughter, LaTasha Rich of Brooklyn, NY, who he loved so dearly; two grandsons, James Earl Rich III of Atlanta, GA and Jeremiah Rich of Huntsville, AL, who were the light of his life; two sisters, Mary Robinson and Estella Rich of Huntsville, AL; three brothers Frank (Edna) Rich of Lithonia, GA, David Rich of Lithonia, GA and Ezell (Shirley) Rich of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Reverend Herbert Cartwright officiating.

There will be no public viewing.
