 Funeral service for James Earl Mills, Jr., 48, will be Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Faith Independent Church with Bro. Ralph Henderson and Bro. Freddie Childs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will lie in state for two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Turney Family Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church.

Mr. Mills died on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Crestwood Medical Center.  He was born March 29, 1971, in Morgan County to James Earl Mills, Sr. and Dorothy Barnett.

He was the Pastor of Faith Independent Church for 13 years and has been a minister for 18 years. Being a very talented musician, singer and songwriter, he loved playing any of his instruments whether it be the guitar, banjo or mandolin. He loved life and “Baby Love”, his wife. He loved preaching God’s Word and singing Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel Music. He was happiest when he was at home or at church with his Bible in one hand and his guitar in the other. He loved his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews dearly.  Preceding him in death were his father: James Earl Mills, Sr. a brother: Buddy May, Mother-in-law and father-in law:”Mammy & Pappy”- Howard and Martha Turney.

his Wife, Cathy Mills

Two Brothers:
Earnie Mills (Janice) and
James E. Mills (Stacy)

Four Sisters:
Diane King (Anthony),
Ann Parker (Mike),
Kathy Gullett (Michael) and
Ellen Mills Griffin

Several nieces and nephews and
Great nieces and nephews

Pallbearers will be Malcolm Sheppard, Jesse Conn, Jake Reed, Don Sandlin, Mike Parker and James Terry.
